People buy to solve problems and get what they want.
Questions in your target market’s mind:
• Can I trust you? Do you really have my best interests in mind or are you just here to make a sale?
• What is this, what’s in it for me, and can you prove it?
• Will it really give me what I want and need?
• Do I really need it now?
The Selling Process
1. Find a deep want or interest
2. Find a challenge or “hurt”
3. Show them how to heal their hurt and gain their wants by using your product or service
1. Who is your target market? Age, gender, income level, occupation, location? (2 min)
2. What is it that your target market wants? What are their goals? What are their values? What is
most important to them?
3. What is your target market really gaining by buying your product / service? Emotionally? (time,
freedom, simplicity, leverage, happiness? What will it really do for them?)
4. What are the biggest challenges of your target market?
5. What is it really costing them emotionally by having those challenges?
6. What statistics, case studies or experiences can you reference or claim that are incredibly
impressive to your target market (and that relate to what they want)?
7. Based on your answers above, summarize who your target market is, what they want, what their
challenges are and what they’re really gaining by buying your product or service.
8. Put yourself in their shoes… where are they most likely “hanging out” and would most want to see
your product or service offered? Why is that so? (Linkedin, TV, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram,
BNI Groups, etc.) Or is it something they’d be actively searching for? (Google)
9. What can cause my target market NOT to buy?
10. What must happen to cause them to buy?
11. What will keep them buying?
